The Letchworth runs 17 miles and has over 20 waterfalls and 600 feet of magnificent gorges. The area was once home to the Seneca Indians. Now, the Balloons Over Letchworth offer spectacular hot air balloon rides to see the region and its many waterfalls. The ride includes the Upper Falls, which are 70 feet high and have a perimeter marked by a train trestle. For safety reasons, children under 12 are not permitted.

These interesting cruises offer a good history lesson on the area's water trafficking economy. The cruises take visitors on the Niagara River and Lake Erie and past several significant landmarks, including Old Fort Erie and Black Rock Lock. Built in 1904, this house showcases the talents of one of America's premiere architects. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the home, which has a 100-foot covered arbor, a glass roof conservatory, and a classic horizontal streamlined design. The house also features long banded windows, pitched roofs, and distinctly over-hanging eaves. The Martin House is over 10,000-square feet and features Wright's "Prairie House" concept. Nestled on eight acres of woodlands and cliffs is another Frank Lloyd Wright classic design. Graycliff sits above Lake Erie and was the summer home of Buffalo resident Darwin D. Martin. The home blends into the surrounding lake and cliff habitat and showcases Wright's signature symmetrical artistic design. Graycliff blends its natural surroundings into enclosed gardens and stone walls along its lakefront property. Reservations required. Children under 10 not permitted.

This informative expedition takes you along the Erie Canal. Lockport is known for the area's water "locks," which run about 50 feet. The canal cruise takes visitors through the lake "locks" and demonstrates how locks are used to carry river traffic up and down the river and its elevated terrain.
